The Wynne Animal Rescue Shelter is a true, in every sense of the word, no kill
shelter. We are a private shelter, and not owned or operated by any city, county,
or state agency. We are totally funded by adoption fees, charitable contributions,
fundraisers, grants, and much appreciated monies received from the City of
Wynne. We keep an average of 75-90 dogs at all times, are always full, and
always have a waiting list of dogs for intake.

Because of our reputation, we accept, and have dogs surrendered, from every
town and major city for over 100 miles in all directions, including Memphis, TN.,
and Little Rock AR. We have been in operation since March 2007, and as of this
writing, January 2010, we have now placed dogs in 43 states. We have been
voted The Best Shelter In Arkansas for the past three straight years, and in The
Petfinder Shelter Challenge 2009, we were voted number 16 in the nation with
over 15,000 shelters in the voting. We have been visited by producers from
Animal Planet, and were told that we have one of the cleanest, finest, best run
shelters they have ever visited.

We have a total commitment to each and every dog we accept, and we will keep
them, work with them, and care for them until they are adopted. We house train,
leash train, car train, and behavior train, and all training is positive and fun for the
dog. Our goal for each dog is to instill total trust in humans. All dogs are
evaluated both socially and psychologically, with both humans and animals,
allowing us to custom fit each dog to his adopter. Our goal is not to find the best
dog for our adopter, but rather to find the best adopter for our dog. We try and fit
each dog to his adopter by temperament, energy level, social skills, and
maintenance requirements.

All dogs sleep inside, in kennels sterilized daily, kept at 72 degrees year round.
All food and water bowls are washed daily in a dishwasher. Dogs play outside, in
large fenced exercise yards, covered with 6 inches of pea gravel, with other dogs
during the day. They are also walked, spend one on one time with staff, spend
time in our front offices, and are loved, petted, and have human playtime
regularly.

All dogs adopted from our shelter are guaranteed healthy, are fully vaccinated
with all shots up to date, spay/neutered, and are microchipped. We have two
veterinarians on staff, have operating rooms in the shelter, do all surgery and
treatment on site, and are one of the largest heartworm treatment centers in the
region, treating both shelter and privately owned animals.

We also operate a private veterinary clinic for the general public at the shelter
two days each week. We are proud of our shelter, we love our dogs, we take pride
in what we do, we feel good about what we do, and we are good at what we do.
We are growing and improving daily, and if we are not the best shelter you have
seen or dealt with now, we will be soon!! Please visit and adopt one of our
wonderful dogs!!!!
